Snap the leaves off once they get about the size of your hand or bigger. Bunch 5-6 leaves together tightly with a rubber band at its stem for a fantastic look.
You can get curly and flat leaved varieties, keep an eye out for the red veined flat varieties - very pretty. Our favourite is the curly varieties, whilst cooking they pick up the olive oil and salt and fills all the crevices making the Kale taste amazing.
How long between plantings of Kale should I wait to get continual harvests?
In short: 5 weeks
Once your Kale is up and running it has the potential to produce for a very long time (sometimes even years with hardy curly varieties). If you plant 5 weeks between plantings you will have fresh and delicious Kale to enjoy for an extended season.
